Seamless look: Corian is a solid surface material that can be processed seamlessly. This creates smooth and almost invisible joints between the individual slabs, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing and seamless look.
Versatile design: Corian is available in a wide range of colours, patterns and styles. It offers a variety of design options to suit different kitchen designs. Corian can also be made into different shapes and curves to realise individual design ideas.
Durability: Corian worktops are extremely durable and resistant to scratches, stains and wear. They are also non-porous, which means they are resistant to stains and bacterial penetration. With the right care, Corian worktops can last for many years.
Repairability: If there are superficial scratches or damage, Corian can usually be repaired and refurbished. A qualified professional can remove small scratches or stains and restore the surface without the need for complete replacement.
Easy cleaning: Corian worktops are easy to clean and maintain. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and water is usually sufficient to keep the surface clean. Stains are usually easy to remove without the need for aggressive cleaning agents or abrasives.
Hygienic: Due to its non-porous surface, Corian is hygienic and easy to clean. Bacteria, mould and fungi have a harder time taking hold on the surface, making Corian a hygienic choice for the kitchen.
Thermal resistance: Corian is heat resistant and can withstand heat when hot pots or pans are placed on it. However, it is always advisable to use trivets or potholders to avoid potential heat damage.
It is important to note that Corian worktops may be slightly more expensive compared to some other materials. The exact pricing depends on various factors such as design, size and installation requirements.
THE COMPOSITION OF DUPONT™ CORIAN®
DuPont™ Corian®, DuPont's solid, non-porous, homogeneous surface material, is composed of approximately one-third acrylic resin (also known as polymethyl methacrylate or PMMA) and two-thirds natural minerals.
The main component of Corian® is the mineral aluminium hydroxide (ATH), which is extracted from bauxite (aluminium ore).
IMPORTANT PROPERTIES
RESISTANT Since its launch in 1967, DuPont™ Corian® has proven itself to be a durable and user-friendly material.
In daily use, it is impact and wear resistant even in high traffic areas.
HYGIENIC The non-porous, solid DuPont™ Corian® can be processed optically without joints and therefore has a particularly hygienic surface. This does not support the growth of bacteria or mould.
EASE OF CLEANING Surfaces made of DuPont™ Corian® can usually be cleaned easily with a conventional mild scouring agent and a scouring sponge. This makes it easy to repair damage caused by burn marks, for example.
Even damage caused by incorrect handling can normally be repaired on site without the need to replace the material.
NON-TOXIC DuPont™ Corian® is a non-toxic material. At normal temperatures, it does not produce gas. When burnt, the material releases mainly carbon dioxide. The smoke is visually bright and contains no toxic gases. These properties make DuPont™ Corian® recommended for use in public spaces and high-traffic areas such as airport check-in counters and surfaces in hospitals and hotels.
MULTIPLE Only the imagination of the beholder limits the applications of DuPont™ Corian®. The material can be joined without visible seams, allowing almost unlimited design freedom.
Long counters, for example, can be made in individual sections in the workshop and then joined together on site.
Edges can be reinforced to look thicker.

Minor damage:
Stains and scratches do not escape any worktop that is used a lot.
Because Corian® is a solid 12 mm worktop, it is very easy to repair.
Minor damage, scratches, stains, burn marks and small dents are easily removed with an abrasive sponge.
Medium damage:
Larger damage, no deeper than 1 mm, is easily removed with sandpaper, 400 grit and finishing with 600 grit.
Dampen the worktop first to avoid sanding dust. If sanding by hand is not sufficient,
we recommend a random orbital sander.
Very large damages:
These can be repaired, but this requires the expertise of an expert. In these cases, cut/mill
In these cases, cut/mill a block out of the worktop and then glue a precisely fitted piece of Corian® into the hole.
We do not recommend doing these repairs yourself. Call us if you need help.
